Supporting Artists in Institutions

As part of my role at Balkan…Projects, I manage incoming collaboration proposals from artists and institutions, while also identifying opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and networks. Central to this work is building partnerships with institutions committed to supporting dialogue and artistic practice connected to the Balkan region.

Two examples of recent collaborations I oversaw are Ivana Bašić’s solo exhibition Metempsychosis: The Passion of Pneumatics at Schinkel Pavillon (Berlin, 2024) and Dora Budor’s commission of the new work Plinth (minor key) for the 58th October Salon / Belgrade Biennial 2021: THE DREAMERS (Belgrade, 2021).

I bring proposals to the team for review and lead a thorough assessment of potential partners and projects—considering values, context, and impact—before helping determine the most effective form of engagement, whether through funding, curatorial input, or intellectual and production support. Once a collaboration is approved, I help coordinate the full process: overseeing timelines and budgets, ensuring funds are distributed appropriately, assisting with production as needed, and maintaining clear communication so the partnership runs smoothly. I also contribute to the project’s dissemination by shaping promotional strategy and amplifying outcomes through our communication channels.
